Cooking and American history.
My 7 year old is learning American history through library books my wife has been checking out! We have taught him about the American revolution and some of the historical figures from that time. My wife recently picked up a book called "Hasty Pudding" I believe, A book of common colonial recipes.
Now, my boy is also quite the little chef. He helps his mother with the cooking, and by help, I mean she stands back and lets him do all the work while giving directions as needed. He wanted to do a recipe out of the book and decided on Johnny cakes and he did a bang up job, my wife improved on the recipe a bit but either way they were great!
I'll post the recipe later as I have to go take care of our animals!

Thanked: 369So Mark, are you cooking everything in a three legged dutch oven on the fireplace hearth? Now that's authenticity.
