    Default Finances and investing

If you had purchased $1000.00 of Nortel stock one year ago, it would now be worth $49.00.

With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1000.00.

With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.

If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

BUT, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank all the beer, then turned in the cans for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Check your math. It doesn't make any sense. I know it's supposed to be funny, but 214 dollars is (214/.05) 4280 cans of beer. That's something like $1.44 a six pack to get to $1000. Drink better beer.
OK, if you are in michigan, it's .10 a can. AND...if you bought $1,000 worth of BEER, then you would have had to pay the $214 over that...it's a deposit. If you paid a total of 1,000, and $214 was the amount of the deposit....man, that's REALLY crappy beer!

What is the per pound value of recycled aluminum? I know it's not much but that would be different than any per can deposit reimbursement.

Oh, I did smile, I got a kick out of it when I read it. Then I decided to look at percetnages, etc (I was one of those people in those stocks, and wanted to see how much better the beer would have been. )
Sorry to be a party pooper.
