Neck Knife Recommendations
I'm looking to get a my brother a neck knife for his birthday. Any recommendations? I'm trying to keep the price under $60-ish. I'm looking at the Emerson La Griffe. Any others worth considering?

I've been very happy with one of these:
HideAwayKnife
fits nicely behind the nametag/leash I wear around my neck at work. Inconspicuous and always right there.

CRKT
I ride a bicycle, and love to watch the sun rise. In south Florida that can be a challenge for many reasons. This has proven itself in all possible situations. From removing bad rubber to cutting kindling for a bbq. A Peace Officer stopped me once, and remarked that he "had to get one". It came with Lanyard material, as well as accessories for a number of configurations.
Around the neck under a T shirt it has never been noticed, and is considered a "pocket knife".
Now this...http://www.knifecenter.com/knifecent...ages/2907D.jpg is pure porn and can possibly land you in prison. If trained and licensed, I think you might find it a strong asset.
Do no harm, and be safe out there! Home is a nice place to be!

very very stable. when you clench your fist the knife becomes like a part of your hand. the plus is that you retain dexterity when not making a fist. for instance, i can keyboard with one on my hand. when you clench up, the bottom of the capsule stabilises against your ring finger, and the choil gets tight against your thumb and it doesn't slide around at all.
i recommend putting the paracord wrap on, otherwise it could be slippery if you have wet hands. with the paracord, i can get a decent grip on it even with sweaty dirty hands.
as for the hissatsu, i have the fixed and the folder. the fixed is over a foot long, you'd need a hell of a torso to carry that thing around your neck without needing to tuck it in your waistband!
