I guess I just fail to see the point of the tea parties. the original tea party's goal was wanton property destruction in protest of one specific law. after checking out the website, this one reminds me more of: Die Hippie, Die - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

what does all this togetherness amount to besides a lot of backpatting and choirpreaching? if you want to accomplish something, go vote third party

Balance of power is a fragile thing. Who knows, perhaps they might eventually help a rise of a 3rd party?

+1. With no direction or plan of action tied to this movement, it doesn't seem worthwhile. My take? Here:

    Default My 2 cents

Let me start by saying, The Tea Parties have nothing to do with partisan politics. Rep/dem makes no difference it's the federal process itself that's out of control.
The original tea party was about the government not listening to it's citizens, and the citizens having no recourse for injustices done them.
Is this one any differen't? No! The first bailout was rejected by the citizens and congress, a week later they were forced to pass it anyway, with added pork spending. Do you honestly think that the government represents You,Your family, and Your rights or freedoms? Did you have any say in the bailouts? Did you have any input in the federal phone tapping/tracking laws? Or for that matter the recent trend to give up freedom in the name of supposed safety? I didn't!
The fact is, for the last several years the federal government has done whatever the hell it wants, trampling on states rights and personal freedoms granted us by the constitution.I could easily post thousands of links demonstrating these facts, but rather than having you click a link and pick apart the information i would rather you research it yourself so that you know where the information comes from. Please don't take the word of talk show hosts, bloggers or lobbyist with their own personal agenda,It's common for some people to attach themselves to a movement, that doesn't mean they speak for or represent the movement itself.
Will the tea parties change the world tomorrow? No. What they will do is bring attention to the government,of the citizens disenfranchisement and make more citizens aware of the overwhelming corruption in our federal government.
I for one applaud their effort to retain the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, knowing the founding fathers warned of the dangers of centralized government usurping the rights of the citizens. It's worth noting that the founding fathers, who created this country would have been executed as traitors or terrorists had they been caught by the British government, and some were.

No finger pointing btw. The dems did it under Bush, and now the reps do it under O'Bama.
It is part of our "checks and balances" system where people are allowed to freely express their lack of desire to pull with the team. Bloodshed and apathy are the true underpinnings of the foundation of the American style of government. Today only one of these has survived... Apathy.

if everyone protests the other point of view enough then we all get want we want a government that does hopefully very little. the government that governs less, governs best!

the European mind has issues with that concept i understand.
    Be just and fear not.

Vote all the incumbents out. Then vote those guys out.

    Repeat as necessary.
