If you were me, how would you reply to that? Besides being unfathomable for me, I'm not sure what the empathetic reply would be.

Gentlemen, behave.
Brad answered a question, asked by QO. No fault in that. Yes it was a bit OT, although it was connected to the earlier discussion.
We do try to keep threads somewhat on topic, but there are far worse OT threads than this. I mean so far there are only a couple of OT posts, and even they are not unrelated to the discussion at hand. Nothing worth calling the thread police for. 't was just a scratch.
And even though people might not really like each other, a little bit of empathy never hurt anyone. Saying someting like 'If you must bleed please do it in a pm' is not the nicest thing to say. It could be considered rude imo Especially since Mark is not the thread starter.
If something had to be said at all, a simple, 'Hey guys, can we keep this on-topic' would have sufficed, and then I wouldn't have to waste millions of perfectly good and innocent photons and electrons to post this message.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 174Sometimes, we are so angry at ourselves because we have nearly done something stupid (like hit someone with the car) that the adrenalin build up makes us shout out and blame the person we nearly hurt.
Stupid really. Because there you are sitting in your car in a very vulnerable position. The guy might put his fist through the window. He might drag you out of the car. He might kick the car door at you if you try to get out.
You did the right thing by walking on and letting him think about his own stupidity.
But just for the record, I have found that walking in front of cars whether I have the right of way or not is never a clever thing to do.
There are all sorts of nut cases out the there. some of them high on drugs etc., mums with babies, taxi drivers, the list is endless. Only joking about the taxi drivers.
Bottom line, glad nobody got hurt.

Brad, first of all, while OT, I appreciate the post. I like it when I "get to know" the the people I spend some of my time with, albeit through the net. Sounds like a fantastic bar, by the way!
English, you are dead right, of course, walking in front of cars is not smart. When they are stopped at a red light, though...if I didn't go then, I'd never cross the street!!! He was stopped before he started rolling.
And I agree 100000% with the idea that we get so mad at ourselves that we lash out to "cover" or for whatever reason. I know I have done it many times myself, sometimes to my own family. Thanks for the reminder that this might have just been a temporarily stupid kid, not a sociopath worthy of a throrough beating.

Icedog,
You should write a book man! You've got stuff to say plus it would be therapudic.

Agreed, except I don't think icedog's post was OT. What are we here for if not to talk? There are some great threads on this site, and I would rather read about someone's real life experiences than some of the BS coming from the armchair generals about muslims and gays, etc.
