I have been watching some of my favorite DVDs lately and I found something interesting. I was watching Sergio Leone's The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly when I saw a scene that reminded me of a scene in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King (the extended version). At first I thought it was a coincidence, but after rewatching each of the scenes it can't be a coincidence.
Sergio Leone was a fantastic dircetor and Peter Jackson must have put this scene in as a salute to Leone.
If you want to look for it, look at the scene where Blondie (Clint Eastwood) and Tuco (Eli Wallach) arive in the prisoner of war camp and the group of POWs are drilled by a big brutish union soldier. This soldier has a white glass eye in his left eye.
This scene matches up with a scene in The Lord of the Rings, The Return of the King, on the second disk. When the characters Frodo and Sam are hiding amongst a group of orks marching through mordor.
