Thanked: 131Eurovision 2009 FTW
For some reason i'm already looking forward to the Eurovision song contest this year. And its not because the UK entry is any good. Cos its not. It sucks.
For those of you who do not know about the contest:
1. You poor people
2. Where have you been?
3. Learn all about it here:
Eurovision Song Contest - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The general gist is everybody sings a song and then votes for whichever country they want to improve foreign relations with.
If you are interested in what the entries look and sound like (and why would you not be?) you can see and hear them all here:
BBC - Eurovision - Contestants
Just click on a country and listen to their song and watch the video. Apologies to those with crap internet connection speeds
No folks, the reason I am looking forward to the contest this year is because I love the Netherlands song and am tipping it to win the contest:
BBC - Eurovision - Netherlands
Its the best song i've heard in the contest so far. Plus one of the trio looks like Roger Federer which is very funny.
SHIIIIIIINE!!!!!
I've taken the time to look thru them all for you folks. Other good songs to check out in my opinion would be from:
Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, and Switzerland
Songs that might do well amongst other european countries include:
Montenegro, Norway, Greece and Finland
And on a last note, Miss Turkey shakes it like Shakira and has the looks of J-Lo. She is HOT.

Thanked: 278Wait, the Eurovision contest is being held in Moscow?
I need to watch the news more often, I think I missed something!
EDIT> Russia started competing in Eurovision in 1994. It has been a long time since I watched it!Last edited by Rajagra; 05-01-2009 at 12:36 AM.

Thanked: 131Russia expands across 40% of Europe. It contains the two largest lakes in Europe. Russia is considered a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. Moscow is the second largest city in Europe. Europe's eastern frontier is now commonly delineated by the Ural Mountains in Russia.
So says wiki anyway.

Well we will all be put out of our misery tomorrow night!
The UK entry sucks, going with a ballad, eewwww. Apparently the UK's popularity has nosedived due to the fact we don't take the contest seriously and have hurt the feelings of other voting nations. Shame on us.
Of course you could argue that other nations take the contest far, far too seriously. All I know is it just won't be the same without Wogan heading up the commentary, but I have high hopes for Graham Norton.

Thanked: 131Clearly the dutch entry was TOO good and sounded like a proper song. Clearly that is the reason it failed.
