Congratulations!
Be glad it takes 9 months as it gives you time to let it sink in.
I'm just wondering why it took two years for you to figure out what you have to do to make a kid
Also, congrats to the missus. May your family live long and prosper!Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

Congratulations!! You'll love it. You assume you know what it's like until you actually have a child and then you realize you had no idea.
We just brought our third home today. 7# 15oz boy. He's swaddled and sleeping on a pillow with me as I type.
Rest up!!!

Thanked: 1587That's nice work there Sandy! Congratulations to you and the missus mate
Not having any children myself, I cannot offer advice of any real insight. But I seem to recall my father quoting Twain at me a lot during my teens - I'm still not sure what he was on about, but he clearly thought it was important so I will pass it onto you in the hopes that you and your child-to-be may benefit in years to come:
When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished by how much he'd learned in seven years.

Well a heart-felt congrats to you and your bride Sidneykidney!
My wife simply walked into the doorway to my office when I was focused on something and held up a really tiny "one-z" that had "future fly-fisherman" printed on it. Took me a few minutes to figure it out. They sure know how to turn your head upside-down at times eh?!? :-)
Anyway as someone mentioned, the idea will sink in about the time he or she heads off to university. :-)
