Squid Free Evening!
Well it is our first Squid free eveing since she came out of hospital 4 weeks ago, it's flown AND dragged at the same time. My folks are down on holiday for a week and have taken the Squidlett away for the night to give us a break.
So far we've been out for Pizza, paid for by the olds. Enjoyed a nice round of golf and are now settled with the laptops (as I poached my mom's earlier, hehehehe) and a nice glass of wine.
And to prove I'm not a neurotic new mom, I waited at least an hour and a half before phoning to "see how my olds, were doing", ahem, yeah that was it.It's her first night away since she got out or our first night off to look at it another way.
So don't worry folks, it's not an illusion, we're both here at the same time.

heh, I remember our first date. Both of us looked at the clock half way through the movie, so about the one hour mark, but we were in a theatre so we couldn't call.

I guess I'm not keeping up either. I thought you guys broke up? I'm very glad to hear that it appears you've reconciled though. Enjoy the free time. It's few and far between at that age.

Chris, we did split last year but after a couple of months apart we worked things out and got back together a couple of months ago.

Having a cub is a little stressful. I find extra effort at good communication with my partner is essential in maintaining happiness. Doing nice things for no reason at all is also beneficial.

Guys, those moments are so fantastic, I'm happy for you! I remember our first night "out." When my mother in law took the baby to her house, we turned off the lights, ordered a pizza, and fell asleep until it came. We each ate a slice, then went to bed.
Enjoy it....it's been a year and a month now, and the nights out are still cherished, and being a dad is only getting better!
