ah but these are old people (55+ is a common requirement in certain parks in US) who were forced to let a few "youngins" move in by the park owner.

there are some rather loud Mexicans near the front but that is a long ways away and Mexicans might be loud, but are almost always very nice people.

if there were trouble I suspect I would actually be a moderating force as I carry considerably more punch than old folks

    AKA really nice atmosphere
I'm looking forward to living next to the lake and being incredibly frugal about it

I took her to a regular trailer park to see what the area was like.
Last place I want to live is where the cops are every day.

@ Bruno way to ask a decent gun question

    sort of

    2 reasons
#1 I will be leaving the safe at a friend's house because he has a real floor to bolt it to. see #2
#2 I will be keeping an SKS in the house because it was cheap, has no sentimental value, and offers better capacity and increased range

I may look in to frangible ammunition

I do consider a man who requires shooting to be a greater threat than stray bullets from my rifle.

well instead of moving in (cause I guess I'm really getting too old for that kind of stunts) GW and I could found a party. With the range we're covering we'll be getting lots of votes!

OT: Housing market in Germany is much different. We have a huge lot of apartments for rent, so I could always move to a smaller place. (Right now I have 1200 f² for a real low rent) Buying a house makes only little sense to me with having no kids. I'm going to inherit part of my parents' one anyway.
As for retirement - I could do that any day for health reasons but then I'd probably die from boredom, LOL

Those trailer parks in the US do sound really good.
    We're not having them here.

Trailers are an o.k. option IMHO if they are a means to a greater end. They can be viable temporary housing.

I lived in a trailer for three years ,worked the midnight shift, and built my log home by day.My wife and I agreed early on to live well below our means and live without motorcycles, boats, four wheelers, riding mowers etc.I was also able to have a decent portion of my salary deferred into savings at the same time.We moved into the house, sold the trailer, and concentrated on paying off the house. It did take 19 years (and three children later) to do it,but now we are free and clear.I retired at 48 and work part-time for the postal service.(My wife still works full-time by choice)I put my postal money into savings and we are able to take a couple vacations a year at the seashore out of it.I didn't miss the boats or motorcycles a bit.
Anyway,it can be a useful option, just be careful you don't end up with $30,000 worth of razors instead of your house.LOL That RAD can be a Bear.

LOL spoken like someone who hasn't ever been to one !

trailer park has some REALLY negative connotations over here
most trailer parks are where they find the cast of the Jerry Springer Show.
it's where you'll find the dregs of society

YouTube - Jerry Springer - Three Pigs in a Trailer 2

YouTube - Redneck Revenge Gone Wrong

YouTube - Stompin the trailer park

the 55+ parks are a different matter entirely
we just found a very nice quiet one hidden off the main road under a canopy of live oaks (that's a kind of oak, doesn't mean not dead)
    super quiet
