Thanked: 150Amazing Weather
So i just had a nice funnel cloud pass over my house, touch down about 2 miles away, and we got some nice hail! I've got to call my insurance agent tomorrow to check my roof. I'm sure there are some split shingles.

I like California more and more every day .... earthquakes are far and few between.
I'm glad you are ok.

Wow...
That's more than the size of a table tennis ball... Split shingles... Imagine getting that one on your head. You won't have to worry about shingles ever again.
And luckily they fell down? I could imagine if they came in at an angle, they'd no doubt smash up some windows.
I hope it didn't do too much damage to your property. Cheers.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

the good thing about tornados are that you (a) have (in most incidences) a few minutes warning and (b) can go underground to get away from them. Earthquakes on the other hand (afaik) give no warning and there is no escaping them. Glad you're safe.
QO,hate to hear you've left the state, was hoping we could get all of us Okies together one of these days.

What's funny is a lot of people out here have been kind of freaking out over the thunderstorms and tornadoes. Like you say, at least with tornadoes you've got time to run and take cover. And thunderstorms...meh, they're loud, but otherwise who cares?
I would have loved to have an okie get together with everyone. I wish my schedule hadn't been such a pain to work with, otherwise I wouldn't have had any problems.

We had the same size hailstones during a thunderstorm the other day in Kansas City, as far as I know there were no twisters.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
