Very interesting read and more interesting time in the world.
1) Where it goes depends on the Iranian people and the support they get both official and unofficial. There is lots of opportunity in chaos.
2) From a distance, officially. He probably will commend them for standing up for their rights and freedom. Unofficially, any support that he can offer that can't be tied back to the US., maybe through third world nations.
3) I don't think he will pick sides unless there is indisputable proof of corruption.
4) It offers some weight but can't be used as an argument until there is indisputable proof of corruption.
5) Probably not in a manor that will completely resolve the issue. There are other nations that can react better, and have a history of it.

Throw North Korea in the mix (you know they will also stir the pot any way they can to direct concerns away from them, and BANG!!“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)
