The Party That Continues To Dig Its Own Grave. Part II
Sanford admits affair
By GINA SMITH - [email protected]
ATLANTA | Gov. Mark Sanford arrived in the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Wednesday morning, having wrapped up a seven-day visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina, he said.
Sanford said he had not been hiking along the Appalachian Trail, as his staff said in a Tuesday statement to the media.
Sanford admitted later Wednesday that his secret trip to Argentina over Father's Day weekend was to visit a woman he is having an affair with.
Opps! They've done it again...

I don't want to hear another pol humbly apologizing for philandering. After Edwards I've had enough. The Brits do it with class, they resign and fade into obscurity. As far as the republican party digging it's grave.... after the Nixon & Agnew administration came to it's ignominious end the pundits predicted that the party was dead for the next fifty years. No such luck.

Y'know when Clinton got caught with Monica I told my co-worker that he wouldn't last two weeks. Who would've thunk it ! Growing up in the fifties it was just a different time. Of course it went on, it has since Adam and Eve, but they didn't report infidelity back then. Wilbur Mills was the first one that made the news with his blatant indiscretions in the seventies . Then in the '80s there was Gary Hart campaigning for president with his 'catch me if you can'. Once they started reporting on that sort of thing if you got caught you were toast until Bill Clinton. Different world nowadays. The old joke, remember when sex was dirty and air was clean.
