    Default Sporting Clays

Any of you guys shoot sporting clays. My son took me the last time I visited him and I really enjoyed it. Shot 16 out of 50 first time out. Dang, looks like another addiction on the way. Lynn

You may have to mortgage your house for this addiction. I reload my own shells. Last year $2100 for about 19,000 shells. Her shotgun $2700. My shotgun $4500. And that hasn't paid for the rounds at the club yet, or any of the gear you will need to go with it.

Clays are a blast, but so is double wobble, wobble, 5 stand, and plain ole trap. Have fun...

OHH YEAA!!! Sporting clays, its like golf but with a shotgun! If you cant have fun shooting sporting clays you need to check you're pulse. After years of punching holes in paper and shooting trap I tried sporting clays, and I mean to tell you, its more fun than the rest. Lynn did you pick up that over and under you were talkin about (Remington)? I shoot a Remington 11-87 premire trap for both S.C. and trap. But I'm looking for a nice over and under just because thay are so dam sexy (looking over sholder to make sure wife is not looking ). You're score aint bad seeing how it was you're first time. What other shotgun shooting have you done? Urlebird, glad to see you pop 'um too. Have fun guys. Tim

Hi Tim, I did get the Remington and it is actually a nice shooter. I have used shotguns in the past for birds, rabbits and with slugs for deer. My boys used to shoot a lot of trap when we lived in Chicago. This has all the makings for a ton of fun. Lynn

I have a old skeet thrower that my dad bought over 15 years ago. I really enjoy getting some friends or family or both out there blasting at some clays. We usually all chip in on a couple cases of clays and cold beverages. Mostly bring your own shells. Grill out and have a hella time shooting the afteroon away.

I did just buy a 1957 Browning A-5(put in Lay-away). Can't wait to get it out so I can try it out on some clays, squirels and doves this fall.
