Wow, if they had had this stealth bomber they could have bombed the hell out of Britain! I mean, they could have hit London itself!
So, in all seriousness, Germany was "on the brink" of so many amazing breakthroughs, one wonders why they didn't in fact win. Perhaps it was that they had sunk all their resources into an unwinnable war with Russia, leaving them unable to maintain basic supply lines on both fronts--much less able to waste valuable money and resources on bombers which would not have given any real advantage at the end of the war anyway.
So, where was god's hand in the years of terror UP TO that point? Where was god's hand in Auschwitz? Hey, while we're at it, where was god's hand in Nanking, or in Cambodia, or at Wounded Knee or any number of other little plces where people decided that other, slightly different people were not, in fact, people at all?
If god's hand is in everything, then it must be pretty red.

Maybe those places would have been much worse without God's hand. I'm just thinking aloud here.
In my view people tend to overemphasize the Lord's hand in these things. Both in the positive AND in the negative. I'm sure the Lord had some influence, but He pretty much lets people run their lives they way they see fit. Rarely does He stop (or make) us doing things.

Looking back at wars throughout history, both sides seem to have said that god was on their side! In fact, he seems the have been the cause of a lot of the wars.
I've always been interested in the English civil war and both the Royalist and the Parliamentarians insisted they were right and god was on their side and generally prayed before the battles.
I reckon this god bloke has a lot to answer for!

Thanked: 124It was Hitlers hand. He was the best thing that could have happened for the allies, total incompetent tactically. The war was won when the fool decided to needlessly invade Russia.
The Germans did had a number of weapons that, if developed, could have at least gotten them a decent surrender-for example they had jet fighter designs so advanced we used the basic designs into the into the 60s, they invented the assault rifle, and a few other I don't remember. They weren't very nice then, but their science and engineering was incredible.

Thanked: 278Just think, if they had used all that genius for advancement instead of making war, Germany could have easily gone on to become a world superpower.
