Sad part is i wont be going back to the states until November so i wont even be able to hold it in my hand until then.. but at least i know its waiting on me!

Wow nice gift for yourself! And you still have too much time to start a short timers calender. Aaaargh, the wait!

Thanked: 102Pistol of Choice?
The statement that this pistol is the choice of Law Enforcement, Tactical Teams and Competitive Shooter's intrigued me.
Is this the situation in the places you have been or Walther advertising?
Walter's are well made pistols. They have many technical features.
However every technical feature is not a tactical feature.
I have never observed one in the holster of a police officer, swat team member of a competitive shooter.
Just curious. No intent to insult your choice.

Thanked: 9No insult taken! That was copied and pasted from their website, I am in the military and all i have ever used or seen used is the M9-military version of the beretta 92F/FS (They are buying new pistols..rumored to be .40). I have never seen a Walther in use by police or military only the M9 and Glocks. I think the coast guard has already transfered to the new pistols which is a sig sauer or however its spelled. I do however like this pistol so I figured I would give it a try. Plus they give military and police discounts I am not sure if I can post the price sheet with the discounts applied but I have them for both glock and Walther if your interested.
EDIT: The pistol below is the M9. I have had one completely fall apart in my hands.. i did not think it was possible but it literally completely fell apart in my hands. AND this gun is like the cartoons, it can be ready to fire and all you have to do is put your hand infront of the barrel and push back and it will not shoot.. scary eh. DO NOT TRY IT!Last edited by M1ke; 07-09-2009 at 04:51 AM.

When I entered the Marines we were trained using the M1911s. The pistol I had issued to me actually rattled from the weapon being cleaned some many times over its life! I still shot expert every time. I got to the Fleet and they issued the new M9s... What a piece of crap! I have never understood that choice. Especially since there are so many great American psitol manufactures. The .45s were in service for decades and the M9s have been around (in the Corps) since the late 80s. We need to stop having pencil pushing POGUES choosing the weapons that combat troops will use to defend themselves...IMO

Thanked: 4For small, light CCW with surprising accuracy and dependability I am a big fan of my KelTec PF9.
By the way, what's with the asterisks in the description?

M1ke that is a nice looking pistol. My favorite caliber is .40 and I wouldn't have one that wasn't double action only. Generally I wouldn't have one of anything so I have three .40 caliber pistols, a Glock model 23, Sig-Saur P229, and the Beretta 96D.
Like dewayne I haven't seen a policeman with a Walther. Most seem to favor Glock or Sig but the Walther has a long history and a distinguished reputation. I bet it will be a tack driver at the ranges it is designed for.
The Beretta does have those design flaws that you mentioned. Also the trigger like the Browning Hi Power and the Luger can never be tuned to be crisp and clean like a 1911 but in the blue version with walnut grips it is a pretty gun and fun to shoot in the DA only mode.
The Glock is the workhorse for me and the one I don't leave home without. The sig and the beretta are too pretty to knock around so I baby them and only take them to the range. Now I want the Walther ..... and an H&K .Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
