    You mean you pansy americans serve coffee at a less than boiling temperature? Sissy's.....

    C'mon really now. Anyone that spills a "HOT DRINK" has no-one to blame but himself. Anyone that walks into a hole has no one to blame but himself.

    Even IF someone else didn't do their job correctly. It's not like she was going at high speeds and wasn't able to avoid it if she'd have seen it at the last moment.

    The point in fact is that the lady stepped into a hole and got "shat" on. Had she been paying attention to her surroundings as anyone participating in traffic should she'd have not stepped into it (unless she was into that sort of thing).

    Any amount of "If she'd been driving" or "If it'd been coffee too hot or tea" doesn't change the fact that it wasn't.

    She was walking, she wasn't paying attention, she got crap on her.

    Sucks for her but suing over something that silly is just....well....silly.

    This was a very interesting story. The workers blew it! The girl well that is a different matter. I have raised a couple of kids and this is what I tell them. People that do stupid stuff tend to lead short lives. If you cross the street without looking you will eventually get hit by a car, if you hang around people that do drugs and party all the time bad things will befall you. It is all about risk assessment and the realization that certain actions will increase the probability that you will come to harm. The girl, if she does not change her habits, will eventually biff it.

    Take Care,
    Richard

    If I bought a cup of coffee and it was only 110 degrees, I would return that cup of pi** warm crap and demand a fresh cup. Why on earth would I want a cup of cold coffee unless it was iced??

    Unless it was 110 degrees celsius. I would want that.

    110C =230F

    (Boiling point being 100C)

    210C=410F

    By which time the water in the coffee would have long evaporated.

    Beer however would have evaporated much earlier.

    Sorry, i was guessing with the temps to illustrate the "danger is in the difference" argument that makes, as far as I am concerned, all the difference as far as liability/reasonably expected damages is conderned.
