I heard a story a few years ago about a guy who broke into a house, gathered a bag full of loot then fell asleep on the sofa in the house holding the bag of loot. Was on a radio show called Crooks Are Stupid, I wish the show was still on.

I don't have any dumb criminal stories in my memory bank. TBH I don't find the Palm Beach story funny as the cold blooded murder takes the humor out of it for me. The real estate broker was charged this morning. I hope they dust "old sparky" off for these people. Lethal injection would be too kind.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 271This actually happened to me. I went out to dinner on my birthday in downtown Chicago and when we got back to the car, it had been broken into and a bike and clarinet were stolen. I filed a report with the police, providing serial numbers, and the clarinet showed up in a pawnshop on the South Side. The detective called me and we went to pick it up. It had been pawned by two men, one of whom wrote his real name and address on the pawn ticket. The detective asked the pawnshop owner if there was anything unusual about the other guy and he said, yes, he had a hook for his right hand. So, we go over to the address on the pawn ticket and arrest the first guy and, when we're leaving, the guy with the hook is standing out in front. The policeman asked the guy who signed the pawn ticket what he was doing with a stolen clarinet. He said he didn't know it was stolen. Who's clarinet did he think it was? Right! He thought it belonged to the other guy with a hook for his right hand.

Thanked: 8I seem to recall a few stories of burglars getting stuck in chimneys. The police or fire department would have to come to get them out.
