There is absolutely nothing on this earth funnier than the stooges! I remember watching them as a kid saturday mornings, later as an older kid going to the midnite marathons at the drive in.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

Thanked: 259i have a collection, but they are on vhs. also it is my understanding(may have changed by now) that there are about 12 feature series that are still held in court processes. seems like they would have settled by now.

Three Stooges
Gentlemen,
The Three Stooges are a way of life. A philosophy. A nugget of comedy that never seems to age. Perhaps it is simplicity of the Three Stooges that makes them so great, the raw comedy that makes us roar.
"Hey, Moe . . . Hey, Larry . . ."
"Slowly I turn, step by step . . ."
Just the thought of Curly lip sync-ing "Voices of Spring" by Johann Strauss makes me howl with laughter — still after all these years.
"We eluded him . . ."
"Yeah, we got away, too. . ."
Gentlemen, the Three Stooges are hilarious no matter how old we are.
Or who.
Regards,

Thanked: 16DVD's of the Stooges are readily available, Lynn. Sony began releasing the Three Stooges shorts in DVD collections by their original release dates. The discs come in two disc collections, averaging a little over 20 episodes. They're digitally remastered and of very good quality.
I have volumes 1 through 5, which gives me a total of 112 episodes of "Nyuks" that I can watch in the comfort of my home. Volume 5 marks the end of Curley as a Stooge; his career-ending stroke happened during the filming of "Half Wits Holiday." A lot of fans are hard on Shemp as Curley's replacement, but he was a good comedian in his own way, and he was the original Stooge before Curley. I think the dynamics of the trio interacting with each other remained the same regardless of which Stooge was present.
Best Buy, Amazon, or any large bookstore chain should carry the collection. I'd recommend you start with the first volume, and buy another volume the next month. They're not outlandishly expensive, and if you're a true fan, you'll be laughing.
By the way, if you doubt my sincerity over my appreciation of the Stooges, I'm about to click "reply" on a mousepad with a colorized photo of Larry, Moe, and Curley posing in golfer's attire of the course where "Three Little Beers" was filmed.

P.S.- Good Lord, I didn't realize until after I posted that this thread is over 4 years old! If what I've said is no longer relevant, please ignore while I catch up to 2009! I feel like I'm telling everyone that the horse and buggy has been replaced by a thing called an automobile.Last edited by Black Adder; 12-05-2009 at 11:57 AM.

grew up watching Howard, Fine and Howard as a kid, can't get enough of it. I have a bunch of their stuff on VHS, including the western movie they did with Adam West... still trying to find a copy of the Three Stooges Meet Hercules, which was my favorite.
