Its this type of thought that is keeping it from happening. There comes a time when one realizes that the whole system isn't working and even if we elected the perfect people they still couldn't fix it. At that time we need to reset the board. It isn't even the elected official but the layer upon layer of bureaucracy that keeps things from working as they should and you can't elect this away. You have to cut it out, like removing a cancer, quickly and before it completely ruins the body it is in. I'm afraid that we are now at a point where getting rid of the cancer will be like painful Chemo but that doesn't stop me from recognizing that it needs to be done.

So what happens when the people who run/own the political machine only gives you a choice between the candidates they want elected?
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

WTF does that accomplish?
I have clove oil, can I mix it into tobacco to make it clove?
(I'm not going near the reset button talk)

I would also recommend buying copies of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution before they become outlawed. Our current president has no regard for these documents.

But who do we have to replace the politicians with? Just look at the French Revolution. They pushed the reset button and ended up with the same thing under a different name.
What I advocate is supporting people who are actually in politics to make a difference. So far I've helped 4 candidates in their push for better government- 3 of them were elected! They were/are men who had full time jobs, families, and didn't like the way things were being run.
If grassroots efforts can get someone like Sarah Palin to Vice-President candidacy, then grassroots efforts can replace the corpses in congress. It takes time and work, but it's entirely worth it.
EDIT: It's worth it for the right people to get elected. I don't think Sarah Palin is qualified for much in the public office.Last edited by Quick Orange; 07-19-2009 at 09:24 PM.

Like I said though the problem in many cases isn't the congresman, its the fact that he has a 20 memebr staff most of whom haven't left Washington in decades. Or tthe fact that we have depatment whos whole job is to watchother departments and report to ta third. These parts of the government just plain don't need to exist.

Thanked: 6Wondering what the interpretation of this no flavored tobacco thing will do for my favorite acid cigars, or are cigars and pipe tobacco exempted from the legislation that was signed. As always I like the rest of you am extremely happy when the .gov protects me from me. After all someone had to do it.
