I agree, there is a lot of "fat" in our government that needs to be trimmed away. The only people equipped to trim it is Congress.

Congress voted for the bank bailouts, the auto bailouts, and the banning of flavored cigarettes. We need change, but it needs to start in Congress. The President only has so much power afterall.

No, cigars and pipes are fine for now. However, the law does give the FDA authority over ALL tobacco products. The FDA could ban all tobacco outright if it wanted to.

I think this explains it. These are the same people that voted for Congress mind you.

I bet it would rather make money off of tobacco. After all it is for the children.

    no, only ciggies.

Djarum already makes filtered clove CIGARS that are exactly alike, only with a leaf wrapper instead of paper.

So the ban has accomplished nothing.

and whomever said FDR fought fascism... guess again. I hold him personally responsible for inventing the entitlement mentality in this country.

This proves that the electorate doesnt vote for anybody, rather they vote against the other guy.

Because we pay their wages I have been under the delusion that governments were employees of the people. That is why we call them civil servants not civil masters.

The French are a pretty fantastic group of people in terms of how they control their government. If they don't like something, they just set Paris on fire.

It is a shame that, in this country, and probably in the states as well people would really like to set things on fire, but they'd like to not be arrested and keep their jobs even more.

All you can do is ride the wave until people start setting things on fire, basically

Course, if countries in the west melt down into Civil wars, the people in the East might think it's getting out of hand and stick an ore in for 'peacekeeping' or what ever it we proclaim to do, now THAT would be interesting.
