    Default Remodel

So I have ripped up my bathroom out of necessity and not desire, and it has turned into a remodel. the past two weekend I have ripped up the carpet (I hate carpet in a bathroom) my bathroom, walk-in closet and my daughters' bathroom, installed the backerboard last weekend, and laid the tile in our bathroom, and my daughters' bathroom this weekend. I've never done it before, so it as taken me longer than others would take, but I'm happy with the outcome.

here are a couple photos of the tile work (so far).

    Matt

PS: Now I'm going to relax with a bowl of Pembroke, and a fat tire.

    looks nice.
was it worth doing it yourself instead of hiring somebody who does it for a living?

you know, yes, it is worth it. I can look at that floor and say "I did that!" Plus it is nice to do some work where I can actually see a tangible finished product in the end (unlike my 9 to 5). Plus I saved over $1700 in the installation price.

I hate to be the one to tell you this Matt, but none of those tiles match, when your wife sees that you will have to tear it up and do it again!

    Sure isn't rocket science eh?

Not much in this life is beyond the talents of a person with the smarts to do their homework and the drive to try it.

See if you ever pay for tile installation again! (barring a lottery win )

Speaking of which, I should really upload to picasa all those pictures of the kitchen and bath I remodeled for my girlfriend's parents this last year.

Congratulations on a job well done, now go spend that money you saved on some razors.

Funny you should post something like this I am attempting more and more home repair on my own rather than hiering anyone to do the job. I think that this is next. Last week-end I painted the front of my house.
