Thread: Griffin V Silva

Oh yes, gentleman. The event is drawing nigh, and each passing night flitters my heart evermore.

Lets talk it over.

Standup - Griffin probably has the upper hand, but unfortunetely, I can't recall a fight that Anderson Silva has truly shown his striking capability. Even so, his moving up in weight class should play a significant role in this category. 185 doesn't have the KO consistency that the light-heavyweights contend with. I think this is where Griffin should spend most of his time.

Grappling - I still contend that Silva has the stronger BJJ training and will prove to be lethal, here. While Griffin has a superb guard, I think he should moreso utilize it to neutralize Silva and get things back in standup mode. This could prove to be the wildcard portion of the fight.

Doesnt look like griffin has the heart to beat him. Altho I could be wrong, my pick is silva because he seems more alert than griffin. He'll probably get caught up by punches and give a good fight for a few rounds and then get sloppy after a while and fail to dodge one of silvas kicks. That would be game over.
