Heck, in 1863 Virginia they'd just cut it off and throw in the corner pile with the rest of 'em ........ just put an old straight razor wedge on the pegleg and you're good to go!

Uuuhm, can I see your birth-certificate Uthed?
I get the feeling that you have been subject to your own suggestion (now that would be scary, if so, pictures please).

    PERFECT advice, Kyle!

As an ex-martial arts junkie, and still sports nut myself, I can say that when I have been dinged-up pretty good (happens a lot if you are active) that the R.I.C.E. technique can work wonders. May take a few days/weeks depending on how serious the sprain is, but it works!

    Shave well -

You need to get thee to an orthopaedic guy as soon as possible. Untreated ligament damage left too long can cause real long-term problems. You have the legal right to copies of your X-Rays, and any doctors reports (they can charge you reasonable copying fees), and should bring them with you to the Ortho guy.

    Best of luck to you!

I would recommend the second opinion. I walked around on a broken ankle for 4 weeks because the doctor couldn't see the break, a hairline fracture just where the two leg bones meet at the ankle. He sent me to a physical therapist who found the break when he used an ultrasound wand on my ankle... about sent me through the roof! Those ultrasound waves really jar a bone break. Was in a cast that afternoon. Better safe than sorry, a good orthopedic should be able to correctly diagnose that for you. Good luck!

sounds like lotsa good advise here. I'd definitely agree with finding the orthopeepee dude ASAP.

Many are open on Saturday for friday night sports injuries and often will make same day apts for sports injuries, even if it's not for a school or am/pro team. Depending on where you live they'll have in-house mri equipment for same day service if needed.
