Default Amarok problems on Linux... need help... Anybody ?

I have used the Amarok player on Fedora 5, KUbuntu and now on Linux Mint. I kept switching distros hoping to get over the problem of Amarok suddenly ''stuttering'' for lack of a better adjective.

It will play along just fine with CDs I've ripped onto my computer and then will suddenly hang and become incomprehensible. Closing the program and re-opening does no good.

You must quit the application and then restart the computer. Open it again and Amarok will play fine maybe for an hour of a day but it will happen again. Sometimes frequently and other times not. Anyone have a fix for this bug?

No can say without more information. Which audio backend are you using (I have made good experiences with pulseaudio)? Setting the amarok output from helix (your default?) to xine might help.

What type of sound hardware is it? Do you have integrated sound, a sound card, or both?

I'm using a Cobra AW- 840 sound card on this box. I have the same problem at home on a different setup with sound integrated on the Intel board. I don't recall which one it is and I am at work now. I think it may be a glitch within Amarok. I would change music players but I really like the file system and layout.

It is set on xine now. I will have to investigate the audio backend. I don't know how to access that information.
