It's amazing how resilient children can be. I'm truly glad to hear she's getting better.

A Father's Elation
My dear JMS,
I know I will have nightmares for the coming nights.
I have two daughters, alas grownup, and I can visualize your terror in seeing your daughter in that bloody state. There is nothing more terrifying than seeing your child injured.
Fortunately this is a story with a happy ending. I share that with you with all my heart.
Give your daughter an extra hug from me.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 1587Mark,
I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to hear that you and your daughter are mending!
And I might add, if the only thing she takes from you and your good wife into her adulthood is an indomitable spirit like she is displaying now, she will be a force to be reckoned with when she is older.

Thanks for the story, Mark; and thank God your daughter is OK. A few years back one of our sons had a choking incident on a piece of frozen fruit. I know exactly what you mean when you said you were calm and focused in the heat of it. For me the world stopped and it was about my son and getting him to breathe again and absolutely nothing else. Thankfully our son like your daughter is OK.

She climbed that tree for her Dad as much as for herself. Bless her, you and all your family. Thanks for being friend enough to share your pain.

Oh man, I can imagine how your stomach dropped when you saw that. I have three daughters, there's a special tenderness a Father has for his little girls. I'm glad it wasn't worse. A few weeks ago I had a 17 year old female patient who dropped her house key under the car and was run over by her Grandmother. She had third degree burns on her abdomen from the exhaust system. Accidents happen. I'm glad your little girl is doing well. Thanks for sharing.

Wow that was tough to read Mark, I can't imagine how tough it was go see your girl go through that. I'm so glad to read that she's already acting like a kid again. Good job keeping a cool head.
