What's the serial number? I could check in my book. Not all are listed. PM me.

the only number i can find ont he Lucien Piccard Dufonte is 6325 above a Swiss shield on what i think is the second plate. it also says seventeen jewels in a couple spots, and Arnex in larger letters and on the inside of the back cover Arnex Ind Corp Base Metal Swiss Made 378
if your book has the numbers for the Westclox (i know since they were cheaper then it may not) then i have a bunch: No. 1563431 No. 1709146 No. 1848520 then a 5947 right near the edge all but it self in bigger letters, then 7 30 41 at the bottom.
i appreciate the help. thank you.Last edited by chee16; 10-08-2009 at 08:47 PM.

the more i look the more i am starting to think that the Lucien Piccard Dufonte is a newer watch that isn't worth much, but a decent watch to use. it works for me as i am not looking to start collecting anything rare (as i can't afford it). it says Swiss made but who knows.

Arnex is one of those companies who made watches for many other companies many of who didn't make watches at all. Their stuff is so-so. No Haute Horology but serviceable.
My book does not have serial numbers for Westclox. They produced watches from about 1903 through the present day though now they mostly import stuff. They made pretty inexpensive stuff. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I dont wear watches either. I cant stand the feel of it on my wrist, and too find it obstructive and hit it against things.
Pocket watches are cool and in a way a relic of the past, much like straight razors, and im sure there are many who collect them too!
I thought about getting one, but unlike a watch it isnt fixed quite as securely and i reckon id end up losing it. In addition to that I already have a wallet and phone in my pockets which leaves me little space for a pocket watch, and if i need to know the time I just get out my phone! Does the same job

i can't stand my phone and will be turning it into a pay as you go emergency car phone when my contract is done in february. really it isn't that the phone is crap as it is the best one i have had so far, its mostly the cost and the ball and chain it becomes once people know you have it. if people know they can get a hold of you at any time then they will (in my case atleast) which is fine for my g/f if she needs something at the store when i am out, but i run my own store and am there ALL day, there is no reason people can't call me there, though they still don't. ha! as you can see this has been irking me for a while. there are also the negative health effects that have to do with cell phone but i won't get into that as this whole paragraph is already off topic
i sympathize with those who travel a lot and NEED a cell phone. if i were in that position i wouldn't use a pocket watch either. but for me it makes sense and i am a gadget type person so they are neat to try to understand.
