Sailing
Any of you razor lovers into sailing/boating? I'd like to get back into it. I had just started learning on a small man made lake as a teen when I had to let go for a while for work travel and stuff. I'm finding that prices have (like most things that aren't wages) skyrocketed since I last enjoyed the water.
I'd love to get a 45-60 ft nice cruiser with all the wenches/pulleys required to enable a 1 man operation when needed and just sail the world over.
Anyone else crazy like me or am I alone on this?

Thanked: 19 years in the Navy, I saw enough ocean to last me a while.
Course I didn't really sail, just made steam.

We just don't want to spend a year at sea in a small boat ..... and no cable!

Thanked: 1No you can stay .... satelite connection ....
But seriously, I hate being confined to a few yards with nothing to do on a boat, yes been sailing and motorcruising, both cases I am best in the (hmz, what was that word in English for a kitchen on a boat)......., making coffee and taking care of the gloomy words on board ... we will sink, we are going to die ....
I am happy in a kayak though, very happy
For the sailors here, ever heard of the Trintella Seaworthy sailing boats?
An uncle of mine started that shipwright. He sold the shipwright about 15 years ago. http://www.trintellayachts.com/

Hi FUD,
Don't sniffle. I lived most of my life near the sea and spent quite a few years sailing/racing on a variety of boats at my nearby yacht club. I'd love to sail the world over, but managing a 45-60 ft sloop alone in high seas would be another matter entirely.

Yes, no cable, able to cruize to an uninhabited island and goof off for a few days or even weeks. travelling to spain, italy, france and many other places for the cost of a little elbow grease and patience. That's what I'm talking about .
As far as single manning That would only be for emergencies as needed. I'd hope to have a crew with me .
