The Shaving Banter Thread

Hi all,

I've been inspired by Obie's threads on locker room banter to start a thread of shaving banter! We've all had encounters, comments (both good and bad) and banter regarding our straight shaving fixation, so this is the forum to post up those little anecdotes so we can all enjoy them!

So I guess I'll kick off...!

After having slashed my face up fairly well one morning one of the MD's at work commented that I'd made a mess of my face and how could I possibly cut myself like that with a safety razor. Basically just teasing me a bit..!

"Jeez, what did you do to your face?"

"I have a very aggressive pet cat " says I.

"Yeah, yeah... How could you possibly cut yourself with a safety razor?"

"I actually use a cut throat, because that automatically makes me bad @$$, plus I get a much better shave with them"

"Well, thats bloody stupid! Man invented safety razors for a reason you know!"

"Yeah, its just because he got scared and wussed out! Not that I'm calling you a wuss or anything... I prefer to look forward to my shaves and make them a highlight of my day rather than a chore."

The conversation ended when I pointed out to him that for fairly minimal outlay he could have a razor for the rest of his life instead of paying £16 a time for the refills. Always good to mention money in discussions between accountants! So he walked away looking thoughtful..! I just hope I get him for secret santa this year, coz I know what he's getting already!

I've also got my dad asking my mum for a straight after months of him teasing me about using them! It seems once he caught sight of my beautiful DOVO Bismarck he was much keener to get involved!

So post up those stories and lets see how many we can get!

Well it is not exactly banter, but my roommates seem to be convinced that I am Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber. We also watch Dexter and this season opened with a death via Straight Razor, so they are always giving me a hard time. I did get one of them to switch (at least partially) to a DE.

I'm going to work on my brother over Christmas Break, since we are college students 900 miles apart it is hard to during the year.
