Thread: King Gillette....Socialist!

Alright, I've posted lots, but haven't posted here since many time these kinds of posts get a little too political. With that said:

So I'm reading Wikipedia on King Gillette and found that he was a utopian socialist along the ideals of Marx and Engels. So instead of making this a political thread, I thought I would spin it into a shaving/sociology thread.

What is a socialist to do when he is, ironically, heading up a profit-bearing company? Why does the worker use one straight razor while the proletariat gets to stromp around with his gilded seven-day set. Well, the worker has to rise up against the proletariat and make them truly equal...enter the safety razor! Now with proper marketing, everybody can have the same mediocre shave! ahhh....equality. Now I can shave with the same multi-bladed monstrosity that Donald Trump uses.

Alright, that was partially tongue-in-cheek, but I had to get a chuckle out of it.

King Gillette made and lost many fortunes during his life. As I recall he died a poor man or at least that sounds romantic.
