Ancient history buffs...This thread is for you
Okay, I love ancient history and all things surrounding it but I am not familiar with this little tidbit:
Vanished Persian Army Said Found in Desert : Discovery News
I plan on thoroughly familiarizing myself with it when I have a little time but thought I would post it here for others who enjoy their ancient history.

Very cool! I've read the "Histories" but I don't recall that particular story, either.

Thanked: 735"A wind arose from the south, strong and deadly, bringing with it vast columns of whirling sand, which entirely covered up the troops and caused them wholly to disappear," wrote Herodotus.
So, how is it that the entire Persian army gets buried alive, and yet Herodotus escapes unharmed?
It's the origin of liberal media bias! The knee-jerk liberal Herodotus is an obviuos example--if the ancient Greeks invented Democracy, that must mean they are also behind the invention of Democrats!
