My neighbour have several cats walking free around the village, so literally black cats are crossing my trial every day. I know that they bring misfortune: usually they are jumpin on my car or my motorcycle on the night after i've washed them.
Whenever i get bored to that sort of bad luck i just let my dogs out. Zap: suddendly all those cats are high in the trees. This happens very often.
So maybe it's me that is causin bad luck to the black cats. And other colours as well.

So...does a white cat crossing your path mean good luck? I'v often wondered.

Man is pre-eminently endowed with the power of voluntarily and consciously determining his own point of view.

That is a great quote. Sort of like my mother told me when I was a kid ... that if a man could be the 'master of his own ship' .... figuratively speaking... but mine seems to go it's own way more often than not.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Resisting Despair and Crushing doubt makes Men strong and Free. Too bad they named a half a$$ed razor broom gimick after Ernst Mach.
