Thanked: 0Beer
I dont know how many of you drink but I imagine quite a few of you do. In which case...
What is your favorite beer?
I have only been to the States once over the age of 21 and I ended up drinking gallons of Miller Genuine Draft, but I generally prefer heavier beers like Guiness and such that seemed to be largely unavailable in the US.

The only time I like a lighter sort of beer is when I'm hot and thirsty, like after mowing the lawn. As a general rule, the heavier the better for me. My #1 would have to be Vitamin G (Guinness). A few of my other favorites are Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine style ale, Sierra nevada Porter, McGuires Stout (local), and nearly anything from the New Belgium Brewery in Ft. Collins, CO, (they brew Fat Tire, etc). ................Jeff

I choose my daily brew like I do my razor. I like to have a nice variety of styles to choose from. I love good microbrewed IPA's from Stone, Bear Republic (Racer 5 Yum), etc. I also love all types of Belgian Ales. But then again, a Czech Pilsner is always satisfying. Oh, and Guiness; don't get started on that one. Sure, a lowly Corona or Tecate on a sweltering day is perfect for girl watching. And sometimes I have to have a plain old Bud.

Thanked: 1I too like the heavier beers, and the hoppier, the better. Right now there's some of my home brewed IPA sitting in a keg at the house.

Thanked: 90Don't think that Miller is the only thing goin' here in the USA. There is a thriving microbrew industry. In fact, there are so many good micros to choose from that I would rank the US second only to Belgium in brewing. If You like beer, check out this site;
Beeradvocate.com.
I also love homebrewing, but havn't had a chance to do any for the past year because my life has been in such a state of flux. I'm finally getting settled in here in the Northwest so I'll be brewing again soon.

Tough question. Depends on the mood. Light beers are OK for summer time, but I can drink them like water... not very satisfying with a meal. I prefer beers like Heineken or Fosters in this area. I really prefer German beers, Paulaner Oktoberfest, Spaten Optimator... ambers & darks. They're heavy, so you tend to not drink nearly as many. I really dislike beer that is really hoppy. I like a more malty flavor.
I like to make trips to the liquor store (the only place you can buy beer > 3.2% in Oklahoma; yes, it's stupid and it sucks because it's room temp when you buy it) and buy individual pint size or larger individual bottles. I buy a few, the friends buy a few, then we sit around and sample a variety of beers.

Number one:
1. Schumacher. German, brewed by Brauerei Schumacher in Germany. Another plus, comes in a 1 literbottle.
Runnerups:
2. Guinness, close run with number one, taking the place on ocasions.
3. Stella Artois, Belgian beer, one of the few light beers I take with satisfaction.

I really enjoy a beer I can chew on. Terminator Stout using nitrogen instead of CO2 goes down smooth as milk. That's a local favourite from McMenamin's (awesome brewery if you're ever in the PDX area). Hell, if any of you are in Portland drop me a line and I'll buy ya a beer If I'm somewhere else, it will invariably be Guinness.

Microbrew Too
Belgian Chimay and Czech Pilsner Urquell are two af the very best beers in the world, but I have to side with the micro brew lovers for the most part. We've got a pilsner called Steemwhistle in Toronto and Big rock in alberta makes a dozen awesome brews. Many more across the country too.
Joesix, you gotta know we've got you beat in Canada. Why is drinking American beer like making love in a canoe? . . . It's like f***ing close to water!Last edited by xman; 11-24-2005 at 12:43 AM.

If I drink a brew, it's usually Ale, such as Rainier. I much prefer the distilled spirits, Like Gentleman Jack or a good single malt whiskey, Bushmills comes to mind.
