One source said that this is from 1932, and it is a husband and wife.
What in the world was she thinking? Or maybe I should say, hmmmm .... what was he thinking?
(she is a few french fries short of a happy meal)

Makes you wonder how many marriages he got through before he perfected the glass!

Was this a pitch or advertisement video? Because if it's a test, then yeah that's pretty impressively dumb. But if it's a demonstration, then well, that's how you sell your product.

Yes, but I'm considering that this was a product demo. As in, "I'm so confident in my bulletproof glass, my wife will now..." etc.
That works today, consider the ginsu commercials. Cutting pennies, steel hammers, etc. Of course it was stupid, but the concept was people would see it, and go, wow, he has so much confidence in his knife, and he designed it, so clearly he's aware of something special in that design. In the end those knives weren't anywhere near as good as other knives available, but the owners and makers of those other knives looked at those commercials and thought, "Wow, what an idiot," and Ginsu's got distributed to damn near every house while better knives remained a niche market.
edit: His wife should probably still have left him.
edit 2 after watching again: Particularly considering how many shots came fairly close to missing the glass.

I think he's a lousy shot. Way too many misses at such short range...
