According to the linked story in ht.no the light might be due to a Russian intercontinental ballistic missile.
And no, I don't live that far to the north.Last edited by Otto; 12-09-2009 at 06:28 PM. Reason: link

I sometimes have an apocalyptic bent, but I would be out of my mind if I saw something like this. Sounds like the rocket hypothesis is gaining strength but it crossed my mind, what if crop circles, whatever they are, moved into the sky?
Oh wait...

NBC reported that it was a Russian rocket, but they deny it. Strangely enough, I say something similar about fifteen years ago when I was working a graveyard shift. When I got home, it was a reported on the news that it, too, was a satellite going up.

I have a friend up there who has got the explanation: they were doing some test-runs when he accidentally set fire to one of santa's reindeers and it ran off with its rear parts on fire. it is probably a burning reindeer that was mistaken for a rocket. Leave the poor russians alone!
We will not see any consequences yet, but sleds cruise speed will be a bit lower this year, so some of you might have to wait until the 26th before your presents arrive.Last edited by flyboy; 12-10-2009 at 04:54 AM.

How about a laser gun drawing circles in the clouds?
