    Default BAMA WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

thought someone would have at least commented on the BCS bowl game.
i do live in Tennessee, but have been a BAMA fan since Bear Bryant was a coach.
it was just about 10 years ago when all the sports writers said the SEC was not a contender for national championships anymore. seems they had it a little wrong again, when you consider that LSU, BAMA, FLORIDA to name a few have won titles since then....

    Unhappy

A rather sore / non-existent topic of discussion in these parts today. Especially after what happened to UT's Golden Boy. Daddy probly told him to just shut up and stay on the bench and appreciate the college run that he had if he wants to be able to recover and maintain a great draft standing.

It was a very interesting game. I have yet to understand how Colt got hurt, it does not make sense. He wasn't hit that hard and the timing of his leaving the field and his father being called down was quite odd. I also did not understand much of the officiating even though I was pulling for Bama. I am glad they won, but I would rather have watched a less one-sided game. I thought it would be a bruiser compared to what it was.
Congrats to Bama though, I really like the simplicity of Saban's coaching. I think he is the greatest coach currently in college football.

I thought the game as so so , Bama let Texas come back with a freshman QB before deciding to finish. Huge hype for Ingram who although good is not even the top RB in the country, typical ESPN stuff.
Congrats to Alabama for the achievement.

Seriously? No he just ran through the two best defenses and had over 1000 yards after contact. He is by far the best back in the country even though he does not play in the other substantially weaker conferences. HE is an outstanding back and I have yet to see someone in college run as well as he has through some of the toughest defenses in college football.

I would not like to get into arguments about which conferences are weak and which not because there is no statistic that can determine that and ESPN hypes up SEC especially after the new billion dollar contract.
Where did you gt your info about other conferences being weaker?
Looking @ the NCAA rush D rankings, 2 SEC teams in top25, 2 ACC teams in top 25.
Take Ryan Williams, freshman, he ran for 1655 yards 21 td (ACC reccord that stands since the 70s) he has 3 total yards less than Ingram and played 1 game less. VT also played both ACC teams that have top 25 rush D in the country, Bama played only one - Florida.
Take Dion Lewis from Pitt, he has 1799 yards and I do not care which conference he played in 1700+ yards by freshman is something.
I do not even want to say anything about Toby Gerhard.

To me tha game was not interesting because ever since McCoy left it was clear who will win.

I am curious though where can I check on that statistic yards after contact?

Texas still almost came back to win it with a freshman QB in his first game.

Now we have to listen to the SEC blowhards...great. Time to avoid ESPN for a while.

I am not a Texas fan, i'm just anti SEC.
