The Outlaw Josey Wales
Gentlemen,
Our good friend Sailor took the words right out of my mouth. Thank you Sailor for providing the information.
I thought the book and the movie were both good, since I am a Civil War buff. Obviously there is a shaving scene in the movie, too, which makes it an even a better movie.
Regards,
Obie

Well it's been so many years since i saw the film. Inspired by this thread i will surely watch it again. Checked the local library: they even have the book there (English), but will pick that. It is always nice to compare original book and how it turns to movie.

It appears that the two novels located in the link are genuine. The novel was actually published under two different titles. "Gone to Texas" is the original title and was most likely published before the movie. According to the publisher's description it was the basis for Clint Eastwood's movie.
