I'll start.. NO Shaving gifts from family. Armis shaving set from friends had shave cream I threw out after one use. It did not lather at all (didn't tell them).

    Pants went up a size!!!

    OK 2 sizes!!

Belts went up in size too.

No Shaving gifts from family (I know I said that)

I (and my family) "opt out" of Christmas... I know how "un-American/un-christian" of us

So we revel in the deception of "Santa Claus" for the kiddies... we just spoil the kids rotton. It's amazing how much money you have for the kids when you dont have to pander to everyone you know during the retail holliday

Default Santa was good to me!

2 bowls of ToOBS shave cream: Mr. Taylors & Eton College
1 tube of shaving cream for travel: C&E Nomad
1 badger brush for travel: C&E
1 bottle of skin food: GFT Coral
1 bench hone w/magnetic leather strops from HandAmerica

Not too bad. Of course, I'm still a newbie so I'm still stocking my inventory of goods.

Oh yeah, my daughters gave me an official major league baseball rules book and a baseball with their autographs on it. These were the two best gifts this year!!

No shaving paraphenalia for me, either, though my girlfriend did get me some handmade soaps and such.

    And a box of cigars.

    Did I mention the cigars?

I was pretty happy with my presents from all concerned, though.

I bought myself a new Savile Row 208 brush and a Mondesir 7/8 straight razor. I received from my g/f a Dremel Rotary Tool and Bill Ellis' Straight Razor Restoration disc.

It was a VERY good Christmas!

Wow, very Dutch it seems, Santa Klaus is our national variant!

Man, I thought I was the only freak. We pretty much opted out of gifts this year too. Just a few for the few who would otherwise be too offended.

I got her a pair of earings so she got em a new pair of Levi's. How brand conscious of me. I like 'em loose, but she likes 'em tighter. Wonder why that is.

PS The real treasures were spending Christmas Day with my father for the first time, and spending New Year's with the Mrs for the first time in years(woman works hard).

Yea, I can see no reason to deny the kids the fantasy and joy of Christmas, there is no harm. But after we "grow up" and fantasy is gone there is no reason to just recognise "peers" once a year

I'm neighborly every day, I try to treat people good everyday and I'm generous (at least as much as I can be) on a dily basis.. so christmas is just a reason to go into debt, and I'll only take on finacial burdon for my kids not just to save face

    Kelly,

That makes sense to me. After all the holiday is not really about presents afterall.
