Sorry, but I fail to see how this is a good thing for democracy.
Corporations are made up of people are they not? Just as unions are but under the previous laws the unions had the advantage but now its even.

This is a first amendment issue which states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I made bold the part that should make it clear that the court did strike a blow for the first amendment and not against it as you believe

So now both unions and corporations can contribute as much as they want to a political campaign?

I think those of you who are neither in a union or in the management of a sizable corporation got screwed royally. At least you still got your free speech.

Full disclosure: I have become of the opinion that it's not the free speech, but the money that backs it that matters.

Then explain Scott Brown or why Air America could not make it.
Air America was backed by tons of money and Brown is an average guy with not a lot of money.

Bankrupt is right gugi. They are bankrupt because they couldnt make any money doing radio...no one wanted to hear what they were saying, but they started off with tons of money gugi. As far as Scott Brown, I know of him because he managed to take a seat in the senate that has been held by a democrat for 40 + years to represent a state that is 3 or 4 democrats to every 1 republican.
Scott Brown could've had a trillion dollars and had every conservative talk show host back him and he still could not have won that senate seat unless the average citizen was ready for that change.

Right, you have said before you're somewhat idealistic i.e. naive...,no wonder you voted for Hussein
You should take a look at the actual election data, the picture is a bit different than your narrative. Read the bible sometime, there it says 'nothing new under the sun'
