Not quite! Inertia also applies to resistance of objects in motion to stay in motion.

When Newton did all his theorizing, he spoke relative to the Earth. However, expand the frame of reference to the sun, let's say, and the same rules hold true.

Well then, you can have the objects in motion staying in motion part, but the object at rest part gets throw out the window....
