Suit Rental
Recently, I have started to look for a new job. I have a few suits that are interview ready. However, in the event I go on an interview but am not successful with getting the job, I do not want to re-wear that suit for another interview. Call me crazy, I am the way I am.
I know you can rent a tux, but is there anywhere I can rent a suit?
Any ideas? Any feedback?

A quick Google search for suit rentals nj threw up lots of hits for New Jersey but most were for Tuxedos which, I presume, you're not interested in. Could give them a ring though? See what they say, they may have ideas. PS It does sound a bit crazy, but what do I know? Good luck, whatever.

Thanked: 293I don't know about renting a suit. But if you have a black or blue suit, change the shirt or tie and you'll be looking new enough for the second go-around.

Wait... Why wouldn't you re-wear the suit?

Thanked: 1371What if the previous wearer of the suit wore it on a bad interview?
Does dry cleaning remove the negative vibes? Perhaps you could just have your suit drycleaned...
(I'm just funnin' with ya...) Most of the tuxedo shops I've been to have suits for rent as well.
Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

Yeah, see a shrink and wear the same suit twice. Dry cleaning too frequently will unnecessarily wear out the suit. Wearing a rented suit that isn't tailored to you would be worse than any "negative vibes" floated around the suit. If you don't get a job after an interview, the last thing I'd blame it on is the suit. It's probably the person wearing it. Then again, I bet it's less about being denied a position and more that someone else received it. Just shrug it off and move on. It's good to get interview experience and you'll get better at it over time.
Funny enough, I do the exact opposite as you. I wear a blue suit and my "Interview Tie" to every first interview (it's blue and red striped). Not superstitiously, it just a nice looking, conservative tie. My only problem is deciding what tie to wear to the second interview...

I've worn the same suit to a follow-up interview before. I simply changed the shirt and the tie. Do that.

Hmmm.... I've been wearing the same suit every time I go to court. I'll have to start keeping track of how many I've lost lately.
