this is an odd, non shaving related question.
i tried to post a shave video that was about 13 min long and youtube wouldn't post it because it was over 10 min long. I noticed that many people break the videos up into 2 or more parts. I also notice that people will post videos that are like 30 min or more in length. Do you happen to know how they go around the 10 min limit?
Also, how did you break up the video in to 2 parts? I don't have any video editing software. Does youtube offer a tool that will edit or split videos in to multiple parts?

I think the max length has something to do with account types or something. I don't think youtube offers any video splitting softwear, but a I'll bet google does (aka search google - not to be an ass, but if I was going to try for a good answer, I'd just be checking google myself).

YouTube members who have plenty of viewers are offered the opportunity to 'partner' with YouTube which allows them to upload longer videos in exchange for advertising space on their channels. The user gets a portion of the ad sales, but I can tell you it's very small.

I found Youtube very disappointing for posting videos. Privacy settings are sorely lacking, little control over embedding, 9-minute cut-off, etc. So I paid a relatively small fee to get premium membership of Vimeo which gives me all of the above and more. If you're looking to make videos for friends & family (as opposed tom broadcasting it publicly), then I highly recommend Vimeo. It also seems to foster an incredibly creative community of film professionals who post the most amazing videos.
