That was truly a sad day. Almost goes along the lines of the warning on the chainsaws, "Do not stop with hands or genitals."

Shaved, it really is a great one. I got to wonder what happened to the person who did it to warrant the sticker.

Well, the Life Guard, Charlie Darwin, pulled his ass out of the Gene Pool, and sent him to the Nature's Selection kiddie inflatable.

    I love puns.

OH! You know what I want to see a choking warning on?

    Condoms.

    Oh, I'd laugh so hard.

Such seemingly ludicrous warnings are not posted for the benefit of users of products, but to protect manufacturers from lawsuits.

The USA has become a VERY litigious (lawsuit driven) society. People will sue individuals as well as corporations at the drop of a hat.

"And what exactly happened, Mr. Smith?"
"Well, I was using the chainsaw, and I couldn't get it to stop"
"Well, there's a manual override on the -"
    "No, it's stopped now."
"Oh, good, you found the switch"
    "Not quite..."
    "Then how'd you stop it?"
"I wedged it into my crotch... I think that my urethra and vas deferens managed to tangle up the motor until it turned itself off."
"...That's stupid. Why did you do that?"
    "They didn't tell me I shouldn't!"

And that court case might actually fly... They didn't tell me I shouldn't.

I get a kick out of some warnings. They're there to protect against lawsuits, as mentioned, and let's face it... some people simply aren't the brightest crayons in the knife drawer.

Not exactly a "safety hazard" type warning, but I've also seen:

On a peanut bar, "WARNING: Contains peanuts".

On a frozen dessert, on the BOTTOM of the container, "Do not turn upside down".
