Winter in the Midwest
It's winter in the Midwest
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 25 below.
Oh, how I love the Midwest
When the snow's up to your butt;
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave the Midwest,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground.

Thanked: 13How did you get a picture of me Bob ????
I laughed so hard when I saw that. Our Barbershop dates back to about 1950 and we only have 1 bathroom which is very small and located in the basement where there is no heat.
I love that picture !!!!

Man, I forgot all about Heilemans. Maybe a vacation visit is in order. At least before the mosquitos come out up north they really like my east coast blood as I remember.

Yeah I've taken that ferry twice but not since I was a kid back in the 60's. As I recall it seemed to take a long time. I enjoyed the ride down thru Sheboygen, Millwuakee and Kenosha (had relatives there too).A lot of the relatives that lived in Manitowoc moved to Phoenix thats got to be weather shock. Oh yeah Hamms love that beer a friends uncle who lives in Millwuakee brought some with last time he came in. Theres nothing like spending a nite drinking beer nd telling lies.

About the only nice thing I can remember from my winters on the prairies is the bright sunshine no matter how cold it got. Especially when it got extremely cold because all the water vapour was frozen! At -40ºC (=-40ºF) when the final vestiges of moisture condensed into ice fog. Beautiful, but deadly. On one such night I was dropped off at my house drunk only to realise I didn't have my keys as I watched my ride disappear. Sobered up pretty quickly I'll tell you. I did jumping jacks in my porch for half an hour until my roommates got home. I was about this close to waking the neighbours and asking them to save my stupid life.
