Default Help! Weird problem with my Mac...maybe.

Last night I got on my computer and itunes opened by itself and requested me to login to my Apple itunes account. After I did so it began to down load a movie that I had rented about a month ago. itunes also informed me that the rental will expire in 30 days which is odd as itune rentals only go 24 hours. I continued about my business without another thought about itunes. This morning before feeding the animals I get on the computer and itunes once again comes on by itself but without the prompt to login to my apple account. so I quit itunes and with in a minute it comes back up by itself. I remove the movie and quit itunes and once again it comes up by itself. This went on several times while I looked for an answer. I finally restarted the computer and at this time it is no longer doing it but it does concern me some.
Has anyone else had this happen? Is it a problem I should be concerned with?
My operating system is MAC OSX 10.4.11 and my itunes version is 9.0.3

Never had it do that before. I have not heard of any bugs/virus/phishing where its launched through iTunes. That would be pretty amazing to do and it would be a massive alert to Apple if that ever happened. So, while I too would raise an eyebrow I would not be overly concerned.

Im am on MacRumors.com and theres a lot of good info there and some really smart people as well... though there are quite a lot of smartass people as well.

You would be surprised to know that concerns like that when emailed to Apple will get a response most of the time.

    That sounds weird alright!
Not sure what to do here.
The 30 days thing is actually quite right.

You do actually have 30 days after download, once you start playback of it, then there is 24 hours to complete the viewing.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

So you pay all that money for a fancy mac, only to have to settle for the Windows solution to weirdness?
    That's gotta sting.

I never owned windows. In fact, I married into Mac so I wouldn't know the difference.
