My favorite lies story is when the NY Times reporter was in Plains,GA visiting Lillian Carter the then president's mother. She asked Miss Lillian if Jimmy ever lied since he had told the electorate,"I will never lie to you."
"Oh yes', Miss Lillian replied, "White lies." What are 'white lies ?' The NY Times reporter asked. "Well", said Miss Lillian," You know how when you came in I told you how glad I was to see you and how lovely you look?" "Those are white lies."
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
