    You've got to be an old goat to know who he was but if you were around and old enough in the '50s chances are you were wearing a coonskin cap.

    Used to watch him as Dan'l Boone in the 60's too.

    I'm one o' them old goats,Jimmy.Davy Crockett was a staple at my folks house.I really liked the way he played the part with quiet dignity.Makes me want to go out and buy the entire series,before it's forgotten.

    Ladies and gentlemen:

    I am saddened at Fess Parker's passing.

    I met him in Vietnam when he visited the troops and found him to be a kind and gracious gentleman.
