A corperation is running for congress as an individual
A press release on Murray Hill's website satirically notes, " Until now corporate interests had to rely on campaign contributions and influence peddling to achieve their goals in Washington. But thanks to an enlightened Supreme Court, now we can eliminate the middle man and run for office ourselves."

I'm sure this has been done many times under the sheets. Nice they can come out of the closet now!
Government by the people, for the people has been history for a long time. Politicians talk the talk until the final minute and then... bend over w/o the kiss.

I thought that was a sarcastic remark in a recent dissenting opinion of John Paul Stevens. I actually expected a comedy skit, but that's actually an interesting way to go about it.

Wow, that's amazing. A quote from your second link:
"The remainder of the press release notes that the company will run an aggressive and historic campaign that puts people second or maybe even third. ' We want to get in on the ground floor of the democracy market before the whole store is bought by China.""
I thought it was a joke, but I guess not.
All this really is a tsunami of change.

Nice one! The corporation in question is "Murray Hill, Inc." A PR firm.
And, judging by the fact that they are currently being discussed ON A SHAVING FORUM, a pretty darned good one.
**EDIT** Wait, you guys don't actually believe this, do you? It's clearly a publicity stunt, made by people wanting to draw attention to the recent supreme court ruling...
I mean, in their press release they say it:
The campaign’s designated human, Eric Hensal, will help the corporation conform to antiquated “human only” procedures and sign the necessary voter registration and candidacy paperwork. Hensal is excited by this new opportunity. “We want to get in on the ground floor of the democracy market before the whole store is bought by China.”
Murray Hill Inc. plans on filing to run in the Republican primary in Maryland’s 8th Congressional District. Campaign Manager William Klein promises an aggressive, historic campaign that “puts people second” or even third.Last edited by JimR; 03-23-2010 at 01:49 AM.

Because serious people don't use phrases like "Put people send, or maybe third", or "Designated human", or "antiquated 'human only' procedures". Those are pretty clearly over the top jokes.
Also, if you want a clearer indication, they're running on the Republican ticket, and their work is pretty clearly liberal-leftist in nature (Working with labor unions, environmental issues, etc.).
