Thanked: 20I take it you are one of those "orgaized" people I've heard about. My wedding is two months away, and it feels like we haven't gotten anything done! ok, so her dress is done, the photgrapher, pastor, and church are booked, so at least we've got enough covered that a ceremony will happen. oh boy, the next little while will be interesting....

Looks like you have it all covered!
Congrats!!
Regarding the speech, don't prepare anything. go with your gut when the time arrives.
But who am I to give advice, the mrs and I ran of to the canary islands and skipped the whole reception thing. Just brought 8 or 10 of the closest family and got married in the sailor's church down there.
Good luck with the upcoming, I'll bet it will be fantasticBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Things that come to mind...
Priest/Rabbi/Judge/Elvis?
Limos/Cabs/Horse-drawn Carriage?
Wife's Garter for tossing?
Honeymoon Plans and Flights?
My Invitation???
When you pick the DJ, make sure you pick songs for the first dance, Father/Daugher dance, etc. He should walk you through it.
When you write the speech, just be yourself and tell her how much you love her. Don't worry about it being long enough or funny or clever. IME, women just want to hear how much you love them blasted over a PA.
Congratulations!

I got married in a small town in Belarus. Not even in Minsk, because there's more bureaucracy there. Very funny thing, we went to the town hall, I could make out some stuff in the Belarussian ceremony and that was it. Two of her friends were there, the lady from the town also took some pictures and that was it. Later that night we had a lavish dinner at a local restaurant with her family and some friends, and of course tons of vodka.
A bit like Bruno's setup, nice and small.
I can understand your story Ian, best of luck and may it be a great and memorable day for the both of you.

Thanked: 31well there is a section that that shows you how to outline what you want to say and how to do it.....what i was taught when you give a speech you do it in this order
tell them what your going to tell them( intro)
tell them(body)
then tell everyone what you told them(summary)
make sure not to introduce any new topics in the summary
and practice it before you get up there get a 3x5 paper and put some key notes on there to keep you on track and keep it to 3-5 min (for the wedding) it doesnt have to be all crazy formal just saying use the outlines provied to keep you on track, good luck buddy!
i also hope that it can help you with your college studys as well
