This may seem totally un-Zen like but a couple of friends at work and I have done commit to sit challenges where we commit to sit every day for a month and we maintain meditation diaries and encourage each other.

I'm in the active meditation camp too, be it martial art or even honing razors.

What a chapter of accidents and misfortune, good on your old man for coming through it.
I'd feel a bit nervous if I found he was booked on the same flight as me.

Your father sounds like somebody I would love to meet. I would very much like to read more stories of his life and times. Perhaps you could give us one from time to time?

I do meditate on the weekends during trout season ( the last sat of april is opening day) The way i meditate is to troll one of my favorite flys around the lake at a very slow speed and sip on a nice cold brewski,WORKS FOR ME

I find myself using self-hypnosis more often than meditating. I suppose this could be a form of it, depends on your definition I suppose.
